Jean-Luc Sable's passion for decorative painting goes back to previous generations of his family, a cultural heritage that he naturally took to and that has inspired his progress in painting techniques.
During 1984-1985, he studied at and graduated from the Flemish Master School Clement Van Der Kellen in Brussels.
He became a freelance decorative artist in 1986 and has since carried out many internal decorations to satisfy the various requirements of private, commercial, theatrical or event-based decoration.
In 2000, the government of France presented him with the Gold Medal for the “Best Craftsman in France” which is the highest award of its kind that can be achieved for decorative painting.
While attending to professional obligations of decorative works of art, he has also taught all the disciplines of mural art to more than 800 students and professional painters from the "Chambre de Métiers" and in several art schools in Paris. Some of those former students work with him today.
In 2003 he started his own school, the Sable School in Versailles.
As a permanent member of the Salon (an international association of Decorative Artists), he will be hosting and organizing the event to mark its 15th anniversary, which is to take place in Versailles in 2010.
