 A self-taught artist and entrepreneur, Melanie Royals has developed a reputation as a leading innovator, designer and educator in the decorative finishing industry.
As the founder and creative force behind Royal Design Studio since 1994, Melanie Royals has shared her vast experience, original ideas and passion for paint and pattern through numerous avenues: television appearances on networks such as HGTV, authored the popular books, Trompe L’oeil Murals Using Stencils and Painted Illusions, developed a series of 12 instructional videos and is a regular contributor to The Faux Finisher Magazine.

In the Fall of 2003 Royals introduced Modello® Designs Decorative Masking Patterns for the creation and application of decorative designs on interior and exterior surfaces.
