Patrick KirwinPatrick Kirwin earned a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio; an MFA from the George Washington University in DC and has attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhegan, Maine.
Some of the awards he has won include an Individual Project Grant from Arlington County in 1996. A recent award from the Loparex Tape Co. was for use of tape in a Decorative Painting Project.
His academic awards include a Skowhegan Fellowship, a George Washington University Fellowship, the Alfondre Prize in Drawing and the Aein Memorial Prize both from George Washington University.
Mr. Kirwin has been a teacher of trompe l'oeil, perspective drawing and representational painting at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in DC from 1998-2001, the Smithsonian Institution from 1994 to 2004 and presently at the Art League in Alexandria since 1994. He has been a guest instructor at the NIMETO School in the Netherlands; the IPADEC in France and Palm Fine Arts in Sweden, and several specialty schools in USA.
