Class Description: Campan, Rouge Royal and white veined carrara were use with abundance in the Palace of Versailles. From many documents, you will study the special design of these spectacular marbles. During that workshop, you will paint a 60" x 30" panel including these three marbles.

• Draw the panel
• Apply the tapes.
• Observe and design of the marbles from natural samples
• Prepare the glaze and the colors
• Describe use of tools
• Perform type of painting (sponging, glazing)
• Apply varnish
Supplies to Bring: Drawing pencils 5H and HB, white chalk, wooden striping edge, X-Acto knife, eraser, industrial sponge, flat painting brush, Badger, short pointed synthetic brushes, slanting edge synthetic brushes, a pheasant feather, 1" masking tape, 3/8" masking tape, ruler, measuring tape, flat bristle brushes, 2" bristle spalter, rags, disposable white plates, buckets, disposable gloves, heavy body acrylic colors: titanium white, black, raw and burnt sienna, red light cadmium, red oxide, yellow ocer, ultramarine, retarder, matte medium, indelible ink Prussian blue and yellow ocer (aero color 1 fl.oz).
Supplies Provided: Strong paper-board panels.
