Class Title: Drywall: Creating the Perfect Canvas (Workshop)

Class Description: In this hands-on class, students will practice a variety of drywall and plaster repair and finishing techniques. Students will become familiar with various paper and nylon mesh tapes, learn how to embed, fill-coat and finish drywall in preparation for primer, paint and other wall treatments. Students will also practice making repairs in drywall, plaster, and texture.

• Learn to properly mix drywall, plaster and texture compounds
• Embed various types of tape into drywall joints
• Create various types of damage to a wall and practice repair
• Tape a seam, an inside, and an outside corner, and apply the fill and finish coats.
• Practice different methods of skim coating a wall or ceiling
• Practice the levels of finishing drywall
• Blend in texture repairs
